National Seminar on
?CLINICAL TRIALS - FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION?


The Department of Pharmacy Practice at NIPER is convening a two-day
?National Seminar on Clinical Trials: From Concept to Completion? on
August
2-3, 2004. This will also mark the completion of two years of the
department.

This two-day meeting will bring together pharmaceutical scientists from

the
industry and academia, regulators and professionals directly involved
in the
planning, conduct and evaluation of the clinical trial in the country
thereby providing a platform to discuss the intricacies of clinical
trials.
Such an interface between the subsets of expertise will bring up for

discussion the issues that are not covered in the textbooks.

The seminar will be especially useful to the pharmaceutical educators,
young
scientists in the pharmaceutical industry / CRO and the postgraduate
students planning to take up a career in clinical research.

The speakers at this seminar are experienced professionals in the field

of
drug discovery and research and some of the major topics for
deliberations
are the requirement of clinical trial in the D & C Act, Preclinical
data/Safety Issues in human trial, Managing Supply Chains in clinical
trials, Writing the trial protocol, Identification of sites, GCPs and
Ethics
Committee issues and Safety monitoring in trials.

To promote interaction among the participants and speakers, it is
intended
to keep a limited participation.

The program will be conducted at the NIPER campus which is located
about 250
km north of Delhi at S.A.S. Nagar. Those willing to participate should

send
the registration fee of Rs.1500/= through a bank draft in favour of
?The
Director, NIPER? payable at S A S Nagar or Chandigarh; and the details

Full name, current affiliation, complete contact information,
experience and
details of Draft, date and the issuing bank not later than JULY 19,
2004.

The registration fees covers the participation at the scientific
sessions,
breakfast/meals for the days of the seminar and shared accommodation at

the
institute premises.
