Response to Legalizing off- label use of drugs
-----------------------------------------------
Dear I-Druggers,
In a country where we have instances of drugs not being used
properly even in "approved uses" , where we do not have doctors using
guidelines (STGs) for proper use of drugs on a regular basis, where we
do not provide "unbiased" drug information about drugs & strange FDCs
(self concocted, and approved under pressure, or illogical thinking by
the FDA) to our prescribers, "off label use" is a far cry !.
It is the bounden duty of the drug control authorities to provide us
easy and complete access to the complete list of drugs & FDCs (strange
as well as good ones) approved by the central FDA, as well as those
illegally approved by the state FDAs (e.g. Nimeulide FDCs), preferably
on a website, along with the "approved uses" for each drug & FDC.
We should now turn our guns at the health ministry & the Drug Control
Dept. to provide us with this bare minimum data, so that we can refer
to it, use it, study it, and give our comments, suggestions........In a
country which has the maximum number of "approved" drugs and
combinations, this is the least we should be provided ! The people of
this country are being taken for a ride with this huge burden of
variety of drugs & FDCs, and the health is the ultimate sufferrer !
Let us all take aim at the drug control department, and demand our
rights !
