Pooled pharmaceutical procurement: the way forward in the states in
India?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Idrug participants,

It is time now to discuss whether the supply of good quality medicines
in our states should be a strong central system with accent on quality
and competitive pricing or a decentralized system where the Panchayat
and Jila Parishads do their own procurement and selection of medicines.

The very successful Delhi Model has shown that a well controlled
central system can deliver the goods and I would like to have some
discussion on this subject.

With all good wishes,
Yours sincerely,
PROF. RANJIT ROY CHAUDHURY
