Response to Illegal drug trials in India
------------------------------------------
Dr Manjula Datta,
All these "great guys" should be prosecuted for the type of illegal
activity that have engaged in. Their licence for practice should also
be suspended immediately, and ultimately cancelled after due inquiry.
Without deterrent action, no improvement will be possible.
I entirely agree. Our main problem is failure to implement the
provisions of the law. We are prodded only after intervention by the
High Courts/Supreme Court. Unfortunately the infrastructure with the
Central and State governments is woefully deficient. We need to quicken
the pace without the courts' "stick".
