Response to Toxicity of nimesulide
-----------------------------------
The enforcing on sale of drug is non existent for any of the medicines.
Banning, without a proper justification, will promote newer expensive
(me too) substitutes. Do you want to do this? Don't forget the poor
masses !!

Response to Toxicity of nimesulide
-----------------------------------
Dear Sir,
The use of nimesulide in India is maximum among the analgesics,
anti-inflammatory ,anti pyretic . Our latest survey indicates that it
is favorite medicament of physicians.
In addition the sale of this drug in India is without prescription
though it is not categorized as otc (non prescription drug).
Therefore it is necessary to have intervention strategies .
This should be
1. informing the physicians about the side effects at cme programme.
2. A strict enforcing on sale of drug .
3. Incase of many adrs reported , an attempt should be on banning the
drug.
the pediatric use of nimb. is maximum and its abuse needs to be
controlled.
thank u
Dr. Dinesh Kumar
