Response to National Pharmacovigilance Centre
----------------------------------------------

To Dr. Pipasha's question - the answer is simply yes.
Unfortunately, the real life situation is difficult. Making laws is
easier said than done. Implementing them to the letter and spirit is
very difficult.
What other modes are there? I feel in addition to regulatory measures,
some educational and managerial methods must also be used to increase
awareness about the importance of ADR monitoring. The mechanisms of
reporting should be simple and widely advertised. Students and
residents as also practitioners of all fraternities must become
familiar with not just ADRs but relevant aspects like causality as well
as reporting ADRs.
