Procurement of drugs in GMS
----------------------------
Dear India drug participants,
The purpose of India drug discussion group is to initiate and propagate
communication amongst us with respect to Rational Use of Drugs
activities that we are all involved in.
We have many subscribers in the discussion group with great knowledge
and expertise. Please generate discussion on critical issues in
Essential drugs / Rational Use of Drugs. We need all of you to
participate.
In Karnataka, we have initiated the process of performing the
Therapeutic category and ABC analysis of drugs that have been procured
for the last 3 years by the Government Medical Stores. Interesting
issues have been surfacing and we would be eventually sharing this
information with you all.
In the meantime, I would like to have some inputs from those of you
involved in Procurement / QA/ EDL activities, as to how analysis (ABC
and Therapeutic category) paves the path towards rational procuring of
essential drugs.
Thnaks and best regards,
Sunitha
