Five Years of India-WHO Programme

Dear All,

I would like to inform you all that we are celebrating Five Years
of India-WHO Programme in Essential Drugs and Twenty Five Years of the
WHO List of Essential Drugs, with the following events.

1. Launch of the India-WHO Programme on Rational Use of Drugs in
the state of Kerala with a large, high powered workshop at which the
Minister of Health and all senior officials would be present - 28th
October, 2002.

2. Launch of Standard Treatment Guidelines by the Minister of
Health and Family Welfare, State of Delhi, Dr. A.K. Walia, at a large
meeting at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, on 7th November,
2002.

3. Launch of the India-WHO Programme on Rational Use of Drugs in
the state of Madhya Pradesh, physically the largest state in India, by
a series of workshops and meetings beginning 9th November, 2002.

4. Presenting the face of Rational Use of Drugs to the public by
having a booth at the M.T.N.L. Perfect Health Mela at Talkatora Garden
- 21st October onwards. Thousands visit our booth everyday.

5. Organization of a high level meeting of policy makers, planners
and researchers on
