Topics for discussion
---------------------

Dear India drug members,

I recently addressed a gathering at the World Health Assembly at a
technical session on 17th May 2002 and have also addressed full house
gatherings at Johns Hopkins Medical School and the Boston University
School of International Health at a meeting organized with the Harvard
Medical School. The following two issues keep on coming up at every
meeting and I share these with you to ask for your views as to what we
can do, all together regarding this.

The issues are:

(1) what is being done in the private sector and with general
practitioners - what are the successful models and

(2) changing prescribing behaviour is the area where more emphasis
should be placed. What are the successful experiences for this?

Can we have a dialogue on these two important issues.

With all good wishes,

Yours sincerely,

PROF. RANJIT ROY CHAUDHURY
PRESIDENT,
DELHI SOCIETY FOR PROMOTION OF RATIONAL USE OF DRUGS
