UNICEF, the world's leading organization working for the rights of
children, seeks a Supply Chain Specialist, (Health), for our Supply
Division, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.  The successful applicant will, as
a part of a programme-supply integration network in close collaboration
with UNICEF Regional and Country Offices and  Programme Division; 
(1) provide supply chain expertise to ensure adequate integration of supply
in
programme design, implementation and. planning, 
(2) lead programme-supply integration, 
(3) provide the provision of technical advice and assistance
to countries for product and service delivery innovation. The incumbent
will also facilitate exchanges of best practices, and work with partners
and counterparts in the specific programme area on supply chain issues.

The duties include:
- Lead programme design on supply-chain issues including:
optimal role of supplies in program outcomes
establishing methodology and format to assess and report impact of supplies
accurate definition and planning of supplies
in-country distribution fit-for-purpose and feedback for innovation
optimization of present system and reporting.
- Build external relationships, collaborate with stakeholders on supply
chain
   management issues in an effort to provide sustainable access to relevant
   supplies; facilitate cooperation in activities at global, regional and
   country level. Strengthen internal relationships by working closely with
   the supply community at CO, RO and HQ levels on supply issues including
   forecasting, stock management, procurement strategies, distribution
   chains, etc.
- Participate in planning and organising supply management training
   programmes with government counterparts and other partners.
- Provide advice and expertise on:
       products, procurement, supply chain management
     delivery and logistics management systems including for scaling-up of
   priority interventions
- Contribute to:
     the development of best practices, capacity building  and knowledge
sharing
   sessions
     the development and use of Commodity Assessments of Essential
Commodities
- Support innovation by; (1) documenting, scanning emerging technologies,
   practises and processes, (2) reviewing supply standards and (3)
   supporting the overall strategy of the organization
- Undertake analysis of the complete supply chain and identify opportunities
   for (1) improvement and innovation in the areas of product selection
   including planning, funding, procurement and logistic and (2) identify
   suitable delivery management systems and mechanisms for expanding
   coverage of priority interventions.
- Synthesise and package knowledge of supply chain management in
   collaboration with knowledge management group, for the defined programme
   area
- Provide advice on the viability of procurement services as a means to
   support countries, including provisions of Technical Assistance in
   relation to capacity building.

Qualifications and Competencies:
   Advanced university degree in business, social science, public health,
   pharmacy, or other related field.
   Minimum eight years progressively responsible professional work
experience relevant to supply chain issues related to the supply component
of the Health programme area.
   Current knowledge of the latest developments and technology in the field
of work.
   Knowledge of worldwide public procurement, contract negotiations and
   administration.
   Experience in business and program analysis
   Good analytical skill and negotiating skills.
   Able to work independently and result oriented
   Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas as well as
transfer knowledge and skills.
   Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concepts in written
and oral form.
   Leadership and teamwork abilities.
   Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious
and effective working relationships.
   Good knowledge in computer skills, including internet navigation and
various office applications.
   Fluency in English and working knowledge of another UN language (French
desired).
