WHO Includes 18 AIDS Medicines in its Prequalification List - including 
fixed dose combinations and children's formulations
Eight brand name and ten generic antiretrovirals were added to WHO's list of 
prequalified medicines today. The 18 medicines include three fixed-dose 
combinations (two- or three-in-one pills) and two children's formulation. 
Other important additions are 'enteric coated' didanosine, manufactured by 
Brystol-Myers-Squibb, which reduces intolerance problems; and two 
second-line treatment medicines (one of these for children).
