Estan disponibles las actualzaciones que NPS RADAR, difunde entre sus
numeros de agosto y diciembre.

Strontium ranelate (Protos) for postmenopausal osteoporosis
Extended PBS listing November 2007

The PBS listing for the osteoporosis drug strontium ranelate has been
extended to allow treating postmenopausal women without an existing fracture
and a BMD T-score ? -3.0 (i.e. primary prevention). Strontium was first PBS
listed on 1 April 2007 for established osteoporosis in postmenopausal women
with fracture due to minimal trauma (i.e. secondary prevention).

Rosiglitazone (Avandia) and rosiglitazone with metformin (Avandamet) for
type 2 diabetes mellitus
Safety information for rosiglitazone
The NPS RADAR review of rosiglitazone has been updated to include recent
safety information about heart failure, cardiovascular risk, macular oedema
and peripheral fractures. All health professionals should be familiar with
the latest versions of the Avandia and Avandamet product information.

Pioglitazone (Actos) for type 2 diabetes mellitus
Safety information for pioglitazone

The NPS RADAR review of pioglitazone has been updated to include recent
safety information about heart failure, macular oedema and peripheral
fractures. All health professionals should be familiar with the latest
version of the Actos product information.
