-------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Copied from INDICES. KM]

Mdecins Sans Frontires is recruiting a pharmacist (M/F)

Context
=======
Given the nature of its interventions, MSF regularly purchases large
quantities of medicines to keep its missions supplied. In addition, MSF is
the driving force of a campaign aiming to improve access to essential
medicines for the poorest populations in order to treat diseases such as
AIDS, trypanosomiasis, malaria and multi drug resistant tuberculosis.

TRANSFER, the procurement centre of MSF-B, plays a major role in ensuring
pharmaceutical supplies and the quality of these. It is in this context
that MSF-B and Transfer must rely on competences in the pharmaceutical
domain.

Job description
===============
There are two aspects to the job that will require frequent travel:

o Investigating the quality of medicines targeted by the Campaign for
Access to Essential Medicines (medicines to treat TB, antiretrovirals,
etc.).
o Supporting MSF-B missions on specific issues related to their supplies
of medicines.

In more detail, the job consists of:

 Proposing sources of specific pharmaceutical supplies for MSF-Transfer
(TB, AIDS, trachoma, STD, etc.).
 Proposing, in collaboration with Transfer, concrete solutions to the
needs of the field, taking into account the legal and operational
constraints, and MSF's own quality referends.
 Ensuring that the technical work is carried out in coherence with the
political and economic environment in which MSF is working.
 Visiting the production sites of generic medicines and making evaluations
of these.
 Promoting the quality image of Transfer-MSF pharmaceutical supplies,
maintaining contacts with the academic, industrial and humanitarian
sectors.

The pharmacist will be based in Brussels but will have to travel frequently
to pharmaceutical production sites and MSF missions. S/he will report to
the Medical Director of MSF-B and the General Director of Transfer.

Profile
=======

experience in the production side of the pharmaceutical industry.
General profile: Personal interest and experience in humanitarian work. An
ability to evaluate risks, to take decisions and to present arguments
defending them.
Ability to work independently.
Collaborative mindset.

Languages: Active knowledge of English and French
Applications: Curriculum and motivation letter Should be addressed to
