E-DRUG: New York Times report on counterfeit medicines (3)
-------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I agree with the opinion of S. Srinivasan that a medicine which is not patented does not mean that it is substandard. India manufactures huge quantum of medicines and exports also.
Where there is money to be made, there is lure of counterfeiting. Economically developed countries also suffer from counterfeiting so why blame developing economies alone? Counterfeiting is not good and needs to be crushed with heavy hand world over. But patenting can not stop counterfeiting. So let us not stretch things too far and propose this as advantage of patenting.
