E-DRUG: IV Ethanol or fomepizole for methanol poisoning?
--------------------------------------------------------
[Due to the urgency of this methanol poisoning, please also send a direct email to ozma.fazal@gmail.com if you have any information. WB]

Hi E-druggers,

I would like to know:

1. Is there a need to filter ethanol for intravenous administration?

2. If yes, what kind of filters should be used? Keeping in mind the corrosive effect of 96% ethanol on the membrane/filter.

3. Is fomepizole available anywhere in the third world? India or Sri Lanka?

4. Any protocols for intravenous ethanol in treating methanol toxicity?

Best regards,
