Hi Jörg,

Thank you for raising this issue. I suppose, the higher they price the
donation, the better they do taxwise. The wholesale price as it appears
in the MSH International Drug price indicator guide varies from 8 USc to 19 USc. 

It appears that Merck is going to produce the tablets in a low cost
country: Mexico (Scrip 25 April 2007). 

So compared to the wholesale price, Merck charges manufacturer's price + a wholesale fee AND at least doubles that price.
