E-DRUG: RDU now part of pharmacy curriculum in Pakistan
-------------------------------------------------------
Dear All,
I am pleased to share that; WHO's Rational Drug Use Module is now part of
the undergraduate pharmacy curriculum in Pakistan and is being taught to the
students in their fifth year of academic study.
The importance of RDU was realized more when in 2004 Rational Drug Use
Course was carried out in Pakistan in collaboration with WHO, Ministry of
Health, College of Pharmacy University of Punjab and TheNetwork for Consumer
protection in Pakistan. Advocacy which was build around this course helped
us in putting on the agenda for incorporating RDU in the curriculum of
health professionals. RDU is now part of pharmacy curriculum and we are
waiting to see its incorporation in Medical and Nursing curriculum too. I
think this is a great success for all involved and its fruit will be seen in
years to come.
