Dear Dr. Tariq,

VEN is a useful tool apart from ABC & VED for quantification, inventory management, Analyzing & Controlling drug expenditure. I don't feel it is useful in prescription analysis.

Prescription analysis can be done using indicators prescribed by WHO & INRUD. One of such document is "How to investigate drug use in health facilities" Selected drug use indicators published by Dept. of Essential Drugs and Medicines Policy, WHO, 1993.
