E-DRUG: Pharmacoeconomics and role in drugs selection

Dear E-druggers;
   
  I am an MSc student at the university of Brdaford.  My dissertation about the impact of pharmacoeconomics on drug selcetion for the essential drug list of Kuwait.  I would like to know your views about the validity of applying pharmacoeconomics on drug selection.  Also, do you think that pharmacoeconomics can be a reliable tool for formulary decision making? Finally, what are the obstacles that one might face using P.economics as a deciosion making tool for EDL &/or Formularies?
