E-DRUG: MSF hosts briefing on CIPIH report 19 May

Tomorrow Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF)  will host a briefing  by Madame
Ruth Dreifuss, chair of the Commission on Intellectual Property, Innovation
and Public Health (CIPIH).  The report of the Commission will be presented
to  the World Health Assembly (WHA) next week.

We have understood that WHO will not  hold a briefing on the CIPIH report
at the WHA this year.  Mme Dreifuss will not  address the World Health
Assembly.

We know that several e-drug  readers will be in Geneva for the WHA
following the debates on the CIPIH report and the proposal by Kenya and
Brazil for a GLobal Framework on Essential Health R&D.

We are therefore pleased to invite you to a lunch briefing by Mme Dreifuss
on the report by the WHO Commission on Intellectual Property, Innovation
and Public Health (CIPIH) in light of the forthcoming discussions at the
World Health Assembly on a global framework for essential health research
and development.

The meeting will take place at MSFâs offices, 78, rue de Lausanne, Geneva.

Friday 19th May 2006, from 12.30 to 2.30pm.
