E-DRUG: Use of Maloprim as malaria chemoprophylaxis

Dear e-druggers,

I am looking for information about the use of Maloprim (pyrimethamine +
dapsone) by GlaxoSK as malaria chemoprophylaxis for travellers or
international health workers (short term and long term. I am aware that it
was withdrawn a few years ago due to its side effect profile, but I would
like more detail on that, and also if it is still available and used in
Africa, particularly in South Africa.
