Dear all,

As far as I know Sumamed® is not registered in the US because both
companies,
Pliva and Pfizer did a marketing arrangement. Pliva (Croatia) had patented
the
product in 1981, marketing it under the brand name Sumamed® in Eastern
Europe.
Pfizer, who launched Zithromax® in 1991, kept the rest.

There are many generics in countries where there is no patent at a 90% or
less
of Zithromax® price.
