E-drug: Analysis of drug utilization in a tertiary level
Indian Hospital (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------

It is my understanding that when you are conducting a hospital based
drug utilisation study the only method is DDD/100bed days. Using the
1000 population as the base line becomes difficult since the patients
using the tertiary facility may at the same time be using medication
from other resources. We have found it difficult to conduct hospital
utilisation on a 1000 population as the base line. Others may comment
on this issue. This baseline is for population- wide study, a region,
or other whole population..
