[e-drug] Shortages of medicines

E-drug: Shortages of medicines

In the recent past Norway has experienced delivery problems with
some very central medicines, e.g Penthotal Sodium, Cefalotin,
Dopamine, Naloxone, Fomepizole (antidot for methanol),
Dexamethazone. In some of the cases there is only one
manufacturer with marketing authorisation.

I have heard that in some countries there is a duty to deliver,
connected to the marketing authorisation.

Does anyone know about such examples, and if it has had practical
consequences?
