E-drug: Adverse effects of mefloquine: due to primary liver damage?
---------------------------------------------
Ashley Croft and I have just published a paper in BMC Public Health
(a freely accessible electronic journal), in which we suggest the
hypothesis that many of the adverse effects of mefloquine are due to
modest liver damage, possibly with secondary thyroid involvement.
The hypothesis needs testing, and meanwhile it seems advisable to
revise the contra-indications and warnings for the use of mefloquine.
