ACIL Australia Pty Ltd is the managing contractor of the Australian
Pharmaceutical Upgrade Project. The Project is seeking to support PNG
implement their National Drug policy and improve the supply of
pharmaceuticals to the community.
We seek an exceptional, highly motivated consultant with experience
in implementation of the National Drug Policy and the development and
implementation of education programs in rational drug use for health
professionals and the community

Terms of Reference
General
The National Drug Policy Adviser will work with appropriate
counterparts in the Department of Health to support the
implementation of the National Drug Policy and the development and
implementation of education programs in rational drug use for health
professionals and the community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Developing a program of action for the successful implementation
of the National Drug Policy, including liaison with other interested
donors (primarily WHO) on the coordination of external support in
this area.
2. Advising PNG experts in the design, implementation and evaluation
of community education programs for informed use of therapeutic
substances.
3. Advising on the design, pre testing, use and evaluation of,
education and information media and materials for professional and
community education in rational drug use.
4. Develop and implement seminars and workshops on community
education in rational drug use.
5. Reporting to the Australian Team Leader on the activities and
outputs of the assignment.
6. Ensure that the gender needs and concerns are given full attention
in all project activities.
7. Ensure that all reporting requirements for the project are
fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner.
