Hi all

To help Mohamed Gad:
1. South Africa's 1997 Medicines and Related Substances Control 
Amendment Act - available in .pdf format at 
http://www.polity.org.za/govdocs/legislation/1997/act90.pdf 
(unfortunately the principal Act, No 101 of 1965, is not available 
electronically on the same site - only legislation since 1993 is 
posted; one more peculiarity, the 1998 SAMMDRA Act, No 132 of 
1998, was never posted on the site). 

This should also be read with the draft Regulations published in 
mid 2001 -

(careful, if URL wraps) - the comment period has closed, but no 
finalised regulations have yet been issued.

2- transcript of the court record of the case submitted by the 
Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Association of South Africa against 
the South African Government in relation to the above act, up to the 
point where the case was withdrawn.
Since the actual court session was so short, the greatest detail can 
be found in the affidavits of the parties concerned - the most 
accessible are the papers served by the Treatment Action 
Campaign, as amicus curiae - see
