E-drug: Research in a missionary setting
------------------------------------------------------------

Subject: MEDICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH IN A
MISSIONARY SETTING.

Dear Friends,

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services extends to six of
the 10 Provinces in Cameroon, serving the community through the
two big hospitals, twenty-three Health care centres and forty primary
health care centres, of the CBC Health Board. As the services
continue to expand, the CBC Health Board also seeks ways to
better up its services to the people.

The CBC Health Board is very interested in creating a Medical and
Pharmaceutical Research Program to handle research in Medical,
pharmaceutical, Medicinal plants and related areas. We are already
involved in small-scale production of some sterile and non-sterile
pharmaceutical product and would like to develop further in this
activity as well. The main objective of the research Program is to
evaluate and improve on these services, which of course is quite
demanding.

We need assistance where possible to establish the Research
Program. We would plead with persons who can make available to
us contact addresses of individuals, or organizations, that are
involved in such activities, or can provide research assistance by
way of literature, equipment, training, financial and human
resources etc.

At the moment, we are putting together the necessary structures
and some requirements to enable this program to start. There are
quite a number of people in the different fields of medicine,
pharmacy, and health sciences working in the CBC Health Board,
who are willing to get very involve as soon as the Research
program starts, with the necessary requirements in place.

We highly welcome your ideas, technical advice and support in
whatever way. Please, you can contact us on the address given below.
