E-drug: Repeat ordering on antibiotic prescriptions (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Broadly speaking, in the UK, General Practitioners have the freedom
to repeat any drugs for any condition. However their computer
repeat prescribing programs will ask for a review date and may
even question the rationale for using antibiotics for URTIs in the
first place. In general, antibiotics are put on a repeat prescription
basis for conditions such as chronic bronchitis, recurrent urinary
tract infection and, as already mentioned, acne.
