E-DRUG: Heineken to provide ARV therapy to workers in Africa
------------------------------------------------------------------
[One of the many multinational companies which announced that
it will now buy ARVs for its HIV+ workers in Africa.
Please note this company also covers (all?) partners and children;
previously companies (e.g., Botswana's diamond mining company
Debswana) only covered one wife and no children...
Crossposted from AFAIDS with thanks. NN]

Heineken is supplying all employees in Africa, with their partners and
children, to access to a comprehensive package of curative and
preventive medical care. Since the early days of the onset of HIV/AIDS
Heineken has been implementing prevention measures and providing
health care for HIV/AIDS infected employees.

The Heineken Board has recently decided to extend its medical care
package to HIV/AIDS therapy measures, including providing
antiretroviral therapy to infected employees and their family members.

The introduction of this therapy will start with Rwanda and Burundi
and will roll out to other African Operating Companies at a later
stage.

For more information, please contact Jean Louis Homé, Director for
Africa/Middle East, at Fax: +31-20-626 35 03.
