E-drug: Information on Diazepam
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear e-druggers,
I am doing a work on diazepam. I am particularly
interested to retrieve information on recent data on
dependence potential, adverse reactions,
epidemiological surveys and regulatory measures
introduced by countries. The cooperation of each and
everyone is highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Dr. Abdullahi Elmi

[Diazepam is a benzodiazepine and most likely same, or stricter,
regulations apply to all benzodiazepines. As diazepam is on the essential
drugs list, it might be of interest to E-druggers to know whether any
country has taken any measures to regulate it stricter than what is
required by international agreements. It is on the UN list of scheduled
drugs (psychotropics) and trade is subjected to international regulation
and reporting to INCB (UN international narcotics control board) as far as
I remember. The last annual report from the board might be of interest, it
is available on: http://www.incb.org/ . WHO also has a document on use of
benzodiazepines with many references (unfortunately I don't have the
reference here). Check also Social audit website,
https://socialaudit.uk.org. Unless E-druggers have any specific information
which you think might be of general interest, please respond to dr. Elmi
directly, not to E-drug. KM, moderator]
