E-drug: Oral rehydration salts (ORS) - formulation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-Drug Friends,

I am looking for the rationale for the WHO ORS formulation, i.e.
justification of each component of the same in the proportion as
prescribed. I would also like to know what is wrong if one deviates from
such prescribed formula qualitatively or quantatively. What documented
evidences are available?

Thanks

[We had some discussion on ORS-salt in May 1999. Search our archive on the
website http://www.healthnet.org/programs/edrug.html for ORS or go to month
