E-DRUG: Kansas sues internet medicine suppliers Response

Rhe world would be so much better off if the FDA, the state regulators and
others would focus their efforts on honesty in claims, restricting claims to
absolute truth, and removing barriers to access period.

In the long run, in fact in the short run, all that happens with regulatory
efforts to protect is to create two industries: one busily trying to catch
bad guys, the other busily trying to fulfil market demands for products
underground with gangs, guns, protection rackets, lies about products, no
quality control mechanisms etc . Both can be eliminated by recongnizing the
role of Government as referee with greatly enhanced powers to determine
accuracy of info being ciruclated, determination of quality, purity of
products etc.

Roughly speaking: make sure what you get is what you paid for, what you know
is what you need to know to make decisions, that what companies say is not
out of context and is the complete picture, and otherwise get out of the
business of stopping sales of anything.

It's the major cause, ultimately, of many or most of our problems.

I would not incidentally have any problems with governments even seizing
companies for false claims and fully support such actions as compulsory
licensing etc.   What my 30 years of political work has taught me, and I'm a
liberal democrat, is that education and making sure information is accurate
goes lots further than any other solutions to problems we have tried thus
far.   Exceptions: cigarrettes.   To every rule....
